Act Of Aggression – Reboot Edition [2023]

Act Of Aggression – Reboot Edition Introduction:

The game is a real-time strategy title set in the near future, with gameplay reminiscent of the Command & Conquer series. In this game, players are responsible for constructing a base for their army, gathering and managing resources, developing new types of troops and units, and engaging in battles against artificial intelligence. Alongside the single-player mode, the game offers both competitive multiplayer and cooperative multiplayer options.

The story of Act of Aggression unfolds in the year 2025, following a global economic collapse known as the "Shanghai Crash." This crisis was orchestrated by the enigmatic "Cartel," an organization believed to have connections dating back to anti-communist figures during the JFK administration in the United States. The Cartel manipulates the ensuing economic turmoil, acts of terrorism, and unstable political climate to its advantage, even drawing the United States Army into its schemes. The mysterious circumstances surrounding the Shanghai Crash prompt the United Nations to assemble the "Chimera," a covert multinational task force equipped with cutting-edge technology and authorized to take whatever actions are necessary. The game's campaign begins shortly after the Cartel stages a coup d'etat in Baja California, Mexico, grabbing the Chimera's attention.

Gameplay:

In 2023, Piet Vermaak, a presumed-dead former South African Special Forces captain, is contacted and hired by the Cartel's leader, codenamed 'Poseidon,' to orchestrate the rise of Raul Escobedo, a businessman with hidden motives, into a position of political power. This plan involves deposing the governor of Baja California and establishing a separatist state called the "Republica Democratica de Nueva California" (New California's Democratic Republic), plunging Mexico into civil war and prompting U.S. Army intervention led by General James Wittel, who gains media attention as the "Hero of Isfahan." However, two years later, the involvement and exposure of Zhang Yao, a former Chinese hacker with an Interpol arrest warrant and Vermaak's aide in his operations, attracts the Chimera's attention.

Chimera, commanded by Colonel Greg C. Schaefer, attempts to covertly intercept Yao as she evacuates, leading to a failed attempt to capture her. Despite her escape, Chimera acquires crucial data, primarily related to Escobedo, prompting Schaefer to launch a missile strike at Escobedo's escape train and secretly capture him for interrogation. This action piques the Cartel's interest in Chimera.

Following Escobedo's capture and transfer to The Hague, the Cartel launches an attack on the International Criminal Court, resulting in Escobedo's death. The Cartel employs the Serbian mercenary unit known as the White Wolves, led by self-promoted Colonel Dragan Vesnic and armed with advanced technology, as its military force. Schaefer is deployed to capture Vesnic and any intact military technology as evidence. However, the Cartel acts preemptively, dispatching Vermaak to eliminate Vesnic and destroy as much evidence as possible before Chimera arrives. The evidence points to potential collusion between Weyland Defense Corps (a major military supplier for the U.S. Army) and the Yueng Corporation (where Yao once worked before joining the Cartel), with the WDC serving as a front.

Schaefer leads an unauthorized covert operation into Yueng Corporation's holdings in China to retrieve data related to Yao and Escobedo. The operation reveals that most of Yueng Corporation's military assets, including ballistic missile guidance systems, were illicitly distributed worldwide through Escobedo's network to Damocles, a powerful private military contractor with ties to the United States and Vermaak's former employer. Damocles intends to leverage its control over military assets to manipulate the U.S. government.

The gathered information is handed over to the U.S. government, which deploys General Wittel, with Schaefer serving as an observer, to neutralize Damocles. In response, the Cartel launches a counterattack using experimental orbital weaponry. However, Chimera successfully evacuates its surviving assets in time. Simultaneously, the Cartel strikes against Chimera, with Vermaak tasked with eliminating captured prisoners and erasing retrieved data from a secondary base in South-East Asia.

Aware that the orbital weapon requires resupply, Schaefer leads an assault on the Baikonur Cosmodrome with Russian military support. They secure the Cartel's database, preventing the weapon from striking the State of the Union address in Washington, D.C., and exposing multiple high-profile U.S. personnel as Cartel members. Among them is General Wittel, a high-ranking member of the Cartel with the codename Hermes.

Final Words:

Exposed, Wittel is forced to flee to Mexico, aided by Vermaak, after failing to organize a force of defecting U.S. troops against the government. Schaefer leads a final assault against Wittel's forces and eliminates him, resulting in Wittel being portrayed as the supposed head of the Cartel. This leads to the dissolution of the Olympus Cell, which is now fully exposed. However, Vermaak and Yao desert the Olympus Cell and join the Heliopolis Cell, led by Osiris, who grants them entry after they assist Heliopolis in removing incriminating data during Chimera's attack.
